Every day, families arrive at GRAACC in search of something precious: The chance to overcome childhood cancer.
GRAACC is a non-profit institution with the purpose of offering every possible chance of cure and quality of life to children and adolescents with cancer.
To achieve this, it built a hospital complex that is currently an international reference in the treatment of highly complex cases.
Every year, approximately 420 new children arrive at GRAACC to begin their treatment, and each one remains under the hospital’s care for an average of two years.
With an average cure rate of 80%, GRAACC is, for many families, a symbol of resilience and hope.
At Instituto Justiça (IJ), we believe that transforming realities begins with ensuring fundamental rights, such as access to health care and dignified treatment.
With this perspective, we joined GRAACC in a project that will provide greater security for the work already carried out by the hospital:
The installation of a new nitrogen tank, responsible for storing the stem cells that make bone marrow transplants possible.
These transplants are a fundamental part of the treatment of various blood diseases, such as leukemia and lymphoma, and represent a new chance at life for the children and adolescents served.
Stem cells must be stored at extremely low temperatures, close to –200°C, ensuring they are ready when a child needs to restore healthy blood production after chemotherapy.
The new tank has already been purchased and will soon be installed. To make this possible, a structural renovation will be required at a cost of BRL 1,200,000.00, which is the goal of this fundraising campaign.
Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2025 and is expected to last approximately 120 days.

Since its inauguration in 1999, the GRAACC Bone Marrow Transplant Center has performed more than 1,000 procedures, 94 of which were performed in 2024 alone.
With the arrival of the new nitrogen tank, which can hold up to 290 samples, the hospital will be able to double its storage capacity, and the number of transplants performed per year will be even higher.
Every donation matters.
Every contribution adds to care and treatment.
With your help, hope can continue to live within every young patient and their families.
