School Restructuring

In 2024, the Arthur Pereira de Vargas Municipal School, in Canoas, suffered severe damage after remaining submerged for more than 20 days due to the intense floods that affected the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The situation resulted in the loss of furniture, books, equipment, and documents, and compromised the school’s physical structure, directly impacting the education of 420 children and the lives of 315 families.

In response to this scenario, Instituto Justiça (IJ), in partnership with Pinheiro Neto Advogados, mobilized efforts to restructure the school and create a safe and welcoming environment for the resumption of classes.

Tables, chairs, cabinets, computers, balls, nets, games, playground equipment, and other essential items were donated to ensure access to education and promote the children’s comprehensive development.

In addition to rebuilding the physical structure, this initiative represents an important step in valuing education and supporting families in the community, reinforcing IJ’s commitment to social transformation through solidarity and collaboration.
