Restructuring of the School

Project partner
In 2024, the Arthur Pereira de Vargas Municipal School in Canoas suffered serious damage after remaining submerged for more than 20 days due to the heavy floods that affected Rio Grande do Sul. The situation resulted in the loss of furniture, books, equipment, documents, and compromised the physical structure of the school, which directly impacted the education of 420 children and the lives of 315 families.

In light of this scenario, the Institute of Justice (IJ), in partnership with Pinheiro Neto Advogados, mobilized efforts to restructure the school and create a safe and welcoming environment for the resumption of classes.
In total, 463 items were donated, amounting to R$ 110,000, including tables, chairs, cabinets, computers, balls, nets, games, playgrounds, and other essential items to ensure access to education and promote the integral development of children.
In addition to rebuilding the physical structure, this initiative represents an important step in valuing education and supporting the families of the community, reinforcing IJ's commitment to social transformation through solidarity and collaboration.
